When I First Found Out I Had Epilepsy

• I first found out that I had epilepy when I passed out in a teacher’s classroom in 2010 in middle school. I had to see my first neurologist at Cardinal Glennon. They told me that I had focal seizures, I was having 200 an hour and as I got older they could either increase or they could go away on their own. They perscribed me Depakote. I had to have special learning classes because the seizures made me think much slower than the other kids. They would change my advance classes because the teachers didn’t think I could keep up. Some of my teachers thought I was just day dreaming because I would stare off into space. I had to sit out of movies during class because of the flashing lights. I feel like I had to miss out on a lot of things because I couldn’t stand flashing lights, but I couldn’t stand flouresant lights either and those are all over the place. This all went on with the focal seizures til 14yrs of age. I will post another blog after I turned 15.
